UPDATE: Due to delays in moving, the library will be opening later than expected. Please note, the library phone is not working yet. We will keep everyone posted on the expected open date. Thank you for your continued support and patience.
Several weeks ago, J.R. Clarke Public Library sent information to the public and patrons via newspapers, Facebook, and our website about the upcoming Renovation Project. The Trustee Board now confirms dates that will help our library continue to serve our patrons and community.
J.R. Clarke Library will be closed to the public from Monday, March 8 through Saturday, March 13, to prepare to move to our alternative location, 101-103 North High Street, Covington. We will reopen at our temporary location, on the northwest corner of High and Wright Streets, owned by Jeff Leininger, on Monday, March 15.
Projected to be complete by the end of August 2021, the completion of the Library Renovation at 102 East Spring Street is dependent on weather, the schedule of contractors, and many other factors. The many business and personal connections involved in this year-long transition period have been fruitful and patient. We thank them for their support and continued involvement.
There will be changes to our daily schedule beginning March 15. JRC will be open Mondays 9am-7pm; Tuesdays 9am-5pm; Wednesdays 9am-7pm; Thursdays and Fridays 9am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-1pm.
Also, our Annual Summer Reading Program will take place in the newly renovated library in the fall. We want to assure all of our youthful readers that we will have a fun-filled and generous Fall Reading Program for all of them.
If you have any questions concerning the move, please contact Cherie or Mary Beth at 937-473-2226. The J.R. Clarke staff is looking forward to seeing many of you at the new site!
